Jim Bindner always wanted to create a community park in his beloved home, Pawleys Island, SC. He imagined a place where people could meet, gather, see art, listen to music, and enjoy the sunshine. After Jim’s father died about 10 years ago and the community continued to experience great losses throughout the last decade, he envisioned the park as an ideal place for memorials, too. Then, Jim became ill. He died in January at age 60. However, Jim left behind a wife and two daughters who plan to carry on his legacy and bring his dream to life.
Jim's passing did not change the need or desire of many to see his dream fulfilled. J.B.'s Celebration Park was founded on January 31st, 2019, and is currently in the implementation phase. In September, the park was approved by Georgetown County Council, who leased the Bindner family a property of 7.5 acres across from Waccamaw Middle School. The county has agreed to maintain the facility once it is complete, but the park will be fully funded by private donations and grants - this is where you come in. Donate today, and celebrate the future of the Pawleys community with us.
